Konstnären Lillemor Petersson

Lillemor Petersson’s artistic career is long and winding, vibrant and engaging. Her art exists where people move and meet, as part of everyday life—both a welcoming presence and a source of new insights.

This book aims to highlight the complexity of Lillemor’s artistic work. It is based on interviews with Lillemor and many of her collaborators over the years, as well as texts by invited writers who place some of her works in a broader context. A rich collection of images showcases the intricate details and monumentality of her creations.

Lillemor Petersson—artist, ceramicist, and sculptor—was educated at Slöjdföreningen in the 1950s, later working at Rörstrand porcelain factory before developing her independent artistic career. She went on to serve as a professor at the Department of Ceramics and Glass at Konstfack in Stockholm from 1994 to 2000. A significant part of her career has been dedicated to works for public spaces, including the façade of Bohusläns Museum, columns at Chalmers University of Technology, St. Göran’s Hospital in Stockholm, and Mölnlycke Cultural Center, among others.
