Angel Ramirez’s work has formal diversity among its characteristics, as well as the use of different media, materials and supports. In the communicational intention of each work or series, he finds the unity of his production. He usually uses woodcut to produce unique works where he appropriates the image that is typical of it, its multiplicity or using the blocks in the work itself.
“At the moment I am working on two series in parallel: “The children of the Beast” and “The chaos of the Crown”. During the time of the residence, my intention is to achieve pieces that conceptually and formally combine both series.
I am also very interested in seeing and knowing Swedish art and its circulation mechanisms through workshops, museums, galleries and other institutions. At the same time, to make known how art moves in Cuba and of course, to show the journey of my work.”
