Cia’s writing is minimalistic, conceptual, abstract and concrete. Undertaking a sort of linguistic archeology, the pieces reveals existing and fictional sonore or sensical rhizomes, forming them into sequences that she also performs or exhibits.
Her practice is based on reducing the form to the minimum necessary in order to visualize a thought or idea. “The ideal would probably be a constant reduction towards almost nothing.”

Cia Rinne (Gothenburg 1973) is a poet and artist based near Berlin. Cia is the author of four poetry volumes, two texts for the stage, as well as a documentary book on the Roma of Europe. She presents her works live on stage and in exhibitions. Her latest publication “sentences” (2019; released in Swedish by Trombone in 2020) was short-listed for the Prix du livre d’artiste Bob Calle. Cia is the laureate of the Prix Bernard-Heidsieck-Centre Pompidou 2019.
