As a multi-discipline artist my art practice covers a broad range of media. The growing concern I feel for our environment and the degradation that we are causing to it increasingly informs my art-making.
Compelled to create, I feel the need to find ways to work in a more sustainable way. At present I am working with ceramics and natural foraged fibre which I harvest and process. Combining plant fibres and found objects with handmade ceramic forms I produce contemporary baskets and sculptures.
Curatorial experience
For the past 8 years I have curated an annual group exhibition in conjunction with the Newcastle Writers Festival. Between 20-25 artists participating artists choose a book featured in the festival to respond to.
