Klara Ström is an artist based in Gothenburg, working with sculpture, installation, and performance. Her practice draws on literary and art history, reshaping familiar narratives into new forms. Inspired by fairy tales, symbols, mythology, and folklore, she creates space for imagination and a longing for the unknown.
Her sculptures, often made of wood in combination with other materials, encounter and interact with one another in the exhibition space. They can be seen as characters with their own patterns of movement and stories. In her performances, she works with voice, text, and movement, where body and space are distorted through costume and scenography. Emotional themes are explored with both seriousness and humor.
Ström holds an MFA from Konstfack and a BFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She has exhibited at venues including Göteborgs Konsthall, Malmö Konsthall, Vestfold Kunstsenter, Galleri Podium, CHART Art Fair, Statens Museum for Kunst, and O–Overgaden.
