Elizabeth Sercombe

In the summer of 2024 I found myself with a studio, two months and a quotation:

Not knowing
when the dawn
will come
I open every door.

At the end of that summer I found myself holding a box full of square papers, tied with a ribbon:

‘The Book of the Dawn’

The Book of the Dawn continues to hold me under its spell, redolent of summer beauty, new hope, and the promise of fruitfulness.

In this month-long residency I set out to discover more of what that promise will hold (but how?)
