Rocky Meaney

Using a process-based performance methodology, Rocky’s live performance work enable him to use his body as architecture and infrastructure within specific environments. Presenting his body as material and a vessel for the embodiment of artifacts, gathering traces from the natural world, he uses his body as a tool implementing the dual processes of mapping and tracing the landscape.

Rocky’s site responsive performances further explore this idea of the body as architecture, responding through performative actions, gestures, and movements to site, positioning the work within a contextual framework. He positions his body within internal architectural spaces immersing and engaging with structures and found objects as a form of human architecture.
