Magnus Ekman is a classical guitarist, choir director, and actor. He conducts several choirs in Gothenburg, including “Röstrum” and “Celin-kören” (Centrum-Linné). Many recognize him as the conductor of “Rabalder,” the choir that sings in the spring at Näckrosdammen every year.

His interest in choral singing was sparked during his student years at the Academy of Music and Drama, where he was involved in the student nation “Vädals Nation” (Värmland and Dalsland). After graduating, many wanted to keep singing, leading to years rich in choral music. Choral singing remains a major and essential part of his musical career.

He also works as a musician, taking on everything from concerts and studio recordings to lighthearted productions, such as “Manschetter & kupletter” alongside Eskil Persson. He has been active in the pop scene, played the blues, written and arranged for other musical groups, and worked as a session musician.

When he isn’t singing and playing guitar, he acts with the theater group “Pellerin,” performing at preschools and libraries. It’s a challenge he enjoys—the roles of actor and musician merge seamlessly, creating a result that is both professional and playful.
