Emma Dominguez

Emma Dominguez (b. 1989, Stockholm) is an artist based in Stockholm, brought up in the suburb Alby of Botkyrka municipality. Her work often takes its starting point in the questioning of power structures and who gets to be visible, heard and occupy a place in our common spaces. Through her art she intends to break down recurring patterns and hegemonic structures, often through collective processes and by trying to tap in to our collective memory to work with issues of trauma and healing.

Dominguez graduated from Konstfack in 2019 and has since then participated in several group exhibitions. She has also driven several collective and political time-specific artist interventions that have been highlighted in media and the art scene. She has been granted Stockholms culture grant for her work enriching the city’s cultural life and her work has recently been bought by Botkyrka Konsthall centre for contemporary art in Fittja and by the Swedish public art agency.
