Karen is a visual artist who works in painting, video and drawing. Recent work has been concerned with light, temporality and the illumination of ideas through a decisive moment (der Augenblick) and its status as transient, yet full of potential and significance. She has exhibited widely including Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Japan and USA. In 2011 she carried out a 7 month artist residency at Ateliergermeinshaft, Milchhof, Berlin, Germany. She lived in Toronto, Canada for over 15 years and is currently based in the UK where she is Programme Leader for the MA in Contemporary Art Practice at Plymouth University. She is currently exhibiting at the John Moores Painting Prize 2014 at the Liverpool Biennial, UK.
