I use abstract images, landscape, and virtual story in my work. Things that I try to expose with my work is about positive energy that gives inspiration to human beings by its existence rather than discriminating true or false in realistic way. I reveal vigor, force and situation. It seems that energy addressed in science and in mythology have huge differences, however I focus on common point of those; which is the fact that those are dynamic and constantly moving.
Drawing lines and moving brush are significant in my painting. I concern painterly gesture thinking of my breath on painting moment and trying to reveal brushstrokes. Sometimes I use several colors on one brush and figure emerges indirectly by its convolution. I believe I am a ‘path’ that painting is made. World exists, I observe it and my painting is made through my body. In this way, motion of circumstance and my physical movement are interconnected. Figurative moment is captured by my body and movement, and the results are the scenes of my paintings.
I am currently living and working based in South Korea. I completed BFA and MFA in painting and printmaking at Ewha Womans University. The value that has been accumulated through these experience keeps me make my artwork.
