AFASI is the result of two years of study within the Master’s program in Contemporary Performative Arts at the Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburg.

The work consists of a performance that explores the relationship between humans and nature through the fragmented communication between them. Drawing inspiration from depictions of women in folklore and fairytales, it also examines whether the historical connection between female sexuality and nature—as something wild, untamed, and irrational—can be reclaimed.

Hanna Monola

Hanna Monola (b. 1989, Gothenburg) is an artist and author. She primarily works with text- and voice-based performance pieces that investigate issues of violence, power structures, gender, and sexuality. Alongside her artistic practice, she writes poetry; her book Att gå. was published by Trombone in 2025. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Contemporary Performative Arts at the University of Gothenburg.
