Decolonial Art departs from a critique of the modern, colonial, Eurocentric, Christianocentric world-system. Since the 1990s, this critique has been developed and articulated by intellectuals, activists and artists in the Global South, especially from Latin America. While quite new within Academia, the decolonial project is an old practice of social movements and indigenous peoples.
From there, from our place of enunciation, we aim to engage in this conversation about our experiences, our lives, our knowledges as racialized women, as women of the urban peripheries and as women who use decolonial art to articulate a decolonizing project in Sweden.
