On October 2, we invite you to an evening featuring five (!) new exhibitions, open studios, and activities across the area. There will be openings with themes ranging from starvation and exile to bodily fragility; you can explore an interactive sound forest in Bergrummet, meet artists in their studios, and enjoy fika with newly moved-in Riksteatern Väst.

Echoes Of Starvation — Haky Jasim

The Gallery: Lilla & Stora rummet

The exhibition Echoes of Starvation attempts to focus on starvation as a weaponized phenomenon, both morally and aesthetically, to create a deepened space for dialogue – a room where we must confront the most fundamental questions of life, death, and the privileges our civilization selectively distributes.

Milton Mondal investigates how a home can be remembered, carried, and re-created across different places. He explores how the feeling of home travels with us, changes with distance, and is rebuilt through memories and encounters.

Dislocated — Tilda Lundbohm

Pannrummet

Through sculpture, installation, and text, the work Dislocated explores the relationship between body and psyche. Casts of hands and feet in transparent sugar evoke questions about vulnerability, illness, care, and the fragility of human life. The sculptures gradually transform during the exhibition, letting time and impermanence become part of the artwork.

Bergrummet

Welcome into an interactive sound forest. A space filled with unique hand-built acoustic instruments designed so that each instrument harmonizes with the others, offering the opportunity to observe and even participate in the continuous creation of the sound piece.

Friskvård — Kasra Seyed Alikhani

Glasrummet

Friskvård is a melodrama set in the fictional spa town of Svinebo. At the new spa facility, the once-painful water therapies from the turn of the last century have been replaced by pleasant baths in body-temperature water. Here, we follow spa guests who struggle to maintain their peace of mind despite increasingly less subtle alarms of danger.

In connection with the opening of Duvan at Konstepidemin, Ina Marie Winther Åshaug presents Fältdagbok, an exhibition held alongside the publication of a new zine with the same title, published by Sunless Press.

Peek into Åsa Gustafsson and Ebba Berg’s studio

Studio 400, Building 4

Åsa Gustafsson is selling merch and Ebba Berg brings along her popular children’s and young adult books. Additionally, there will be a double interview: Ebba asks Åsa’s alter ego Åke about his state of mind – and Åke grills Ebba on both the state of things and her authorship. Coffee and bubbly will be available!
