The Irish artist Rocky Meany is currently on an artist residency at Konstepidemin and invites you to this performance – the second of three in a work-in-progress series where he explores Konstepidemin’s old hospital environments!

Responding through performative gesture, action and movement, to the epidemical sites within the architectural structures of the buildings. Extracting what impact the sites of the old epidemic hospital will have on the work, as well as the performer’s actions, and what actions and reactions are provoked? The epidemical wards, dormitories, boiler rooms, and the external sites where infectious diseases were treated at the time, become the backdrop for the absurd stage of ’the performance of shelter’ to begin!

Bio: Rocky Meaney

Rocky Meany is an Irish performance artist from County Clare, currently based in Limerick City, Ireland. He holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art with First Class Honours from T.U.S/L.S.A.D Technological University of the Shannon Midwest – Limerick School of Art & Design, Limerick, Ireland. His live art practice is deeply rooted in time-based performance art, site-specific and site-responsive performance, with a strong focus on performance drawing. Rocky primarily works in the media of live art performance, moving image, and drawing.
