ilYoung är ilDances projektbaserade ungdomskompani. ilDances konstnärliga ledare, Lee Brummer & Israel Aloni grundade ilYoung 2012 med ambitionen att skapa en plattform som erbjuder professionell erfarenhet till unga och lovande dansare.

ilYoung är det enda professionella ungdomskompaniet i Sverige, och det verkar nationellt. Det är helt fristående och ilDances ledare arbetar med varje del av verksamheten, från finansiering till direkt mentorskap med de unga dansarna. Sedan starten har ilYoung varit en viktig komponent i det samtida dansfältet i Sverige och internationellt genom att engagera och handleda tiotals unga dansare, där många fortsätter efter ilYoung för att arbeta professionellt med hyllade kompanier, koreografer och organisationer i Sverige och utomlands.

Arrival

Arrival är ett livligt undersökande av brytpunkten mellan våra förväntningar och vad vi faktiskt möts av vid situationens ankomst. Verket fångar ögonblicket då vi inser att uppfattningen vi hade inför personen eller platsen vi ska möta, kanske inte kommer att infrias.

Time of our life

Time of our life är en gemensam intim upplevelse mellan dansarna och publiken. Verket baseras på personliga berättelser från de tio scenkonstnärernas liv och utforskar tiden de är i nu, genom en nostalgisk blick. Hur stort är avståndet mellan där vi en gång var och där vi nu står?

ilYoung is ilDance’s project based junior dance company. ilDance’s directors, Lee Brummer & Israel Aloni established ilYoung in 2012 with the ambition to structure a platform which would offer professional experience to young and emerging dancers. ilYoung is the only professional junior company in Sweden and it is operating nationally. It is fully independent and ilDance’s directors work on each part of its operation, from fundraising through to the direct mentorship with the young artists. Since its start, ilYoung has been a significant component in the contemporary dance field in Sweden and internationally by engaging and mentoring tens of young artists, many of whom are continue after ilYoung to work professionally with acclaimed companies, choreographers and organisations in Sweden and abroad.

Arrival 

Arrival is a vivid examination of the meeting point between our expectations and what we actually meet upon arrival at a situation. The piece captures that significant moment of realisation that we have come to meet a person or a place with many preconceptions and expectations and that might or might not be met during the actual encounter.

Time of our life 

Time of our life is a shared intimate experience between the performers and the audience. The work is based on stories from each of the ten artists personal lives and explores the time of life in which the artist are presently, through the lens of nostalgia and questions how big the gap is between where we once were and where we now stand.
