The solo exhibition Contemplation by the artist Joanna Günther is shown in Galleri Konstepidimin’s venue Bergrummet. The artist has worked with a theme where the underlying feeling of hallucination is close at hand. We encounter an installation that carries the organic shape of the room. We are embraced by shades of the inner body and drawn towards a center point that bears traces of hypnosis. Günther’s work often explores psychological and emotional states, focusing on themes such as hallucination, hypnosis, and dreamlike landscapes.

About Joanna Günther

Joanna Günther (born 1979) is a Stockholm-based artist with a studio located in Gustavsberg’s old porcelain factory. She graduated from Konstfack’s Ceramics and Glass department in 2008, and her work often revolves around tactility, whether in the form of art installations or designing objects. Günther’s artistic practice is characterized by an exploration of the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the rational and the irrational, and the individual and the collective. Her work often delves into psychological and emotional states, with a focus on themes such as hallucination, hypnosis, and dreamlike landscapes.

In recent years, Günther has created installations for festivals, private settings, and various brands. Alongside her narrative work, design has been an important part of her livelihood.
