Pentapolar Birds is Trinidad Carrillo on vocals, piano, or guitar. Her roots are in singing and storytelling.
Trinidad is a multidisciplinary artist who has just released the book Oneiromance through her own publishing house in collaboration with Skogens Förlag. Under her persona, Pentapolar Birds, she writes music and performs songs given to her by the birds that sometimes manage to find her frequency and come through. Whatever she undertakes, it is to convey something from the magical world that runs parallel to and hand in hand with this one. She has now worked on music from the hypnagogic texts she wrote in Oneiromance.
”The birds around my head are also dragons. Pentapolar Birds is a physical and mental experience of life: words that paint pictures that happen through my body.”
Among her larger musical works shown in Gothenburg are ”Migratory Birds” at Konstepidemins Day 2018, ”The Tale of the Dragon and the Hummingbird,” and ”Songs from the Dream Realm” performed at Skogen in 2023 and 2024.
Pentapolar Birds är Trinidad Carrillo på sång, piano eller gitarr. Hennes rötter finns i sången och sagoberättandet.
Trinidad är en multidisciplinär konstnär som just släppt boken Oneiromance på eget förlag i samarbete med Skogens förlag. Under sin persona Pentapolar Birds skriver hon musik och framför sånger givna till henne av fåglarna som ibland lyckas hitta hennes frekvens och komma igenom. Vad hon än åtar sig är det för att förmedla något ur den magiska världen som löper parallellt och hand i hand med denna. Nu har hon jobbat musik från hypnagogiska texter hon skrivit i Oneiromance.
”Fåglarna kring mitt huvud är också drakar. Pentapolar birds är en fysisk och mental upplevelse av livet: ord som målar bilder som händer genom min kropp”.
Bland hennes större musikaliska verk visade i Göteborg finns ”Migratory Birds” på Konstepidemins dag 2018, ”The tale of the dragon and the hummingbird” och ”Songs from the Dream Realm” uppförda på Skogen 2023 och 2024.
