My focus in painting lies primarily on the figure and creating an outward expression of the painted figure’s inner world. Working within the framework of representational painting allows me to ground my scenes in reality. For me, painting is a means of having an unspoken psychological connection with my viewers. I have always believed that it is important to leave enough space and emptiness for the viewer themself to become a part of the piece. I keep the narratives in my pieces intentionally ambiguous to allow for the viewer to form their own stories and explanations. What we choose not to say is as important as what we say.
