In 2018 Konstepidemin initiated a long-term exchange between artists from Dakar (Senegal) and Västra Götaland, which is done in connection with local art programs during the biennials in Dakar (DakArt Off) and in Gothenburg (GIBCA Extended) Within the framework of the project, several groups of artists will travel to the other country to exchange experiences with local colleagues, make collective artworks and joint exhibitions in connection with the biennials’ extended art programs. With this exchange, conditions are created for a broad exchange of experiences from two quite different regions. The focus is on the artistic exchange, and establishing links between the two local art scenes and open a discussion on local and global issues such as climate change, societal norms and equality.
