Elisabeth Raymond & Charlie Laban Trier

Eli Eli (Elisabeth Raymond) is a choreographer and multidisciplinary artist navigating through a field of entanglement, connection and un-rootedness. They are working with scores of mapping and listening to the gentle pushes of bodies;
bodies as in landscapes, bodies as in matter, bodies as in beings- how one thing is never separate from another. Their main focus lies in sharing a practice of listening to the world, of collecting collective knowledge and expanding the art-field beyond the capitalist desires of production. Their work can be experienced through performances, workshops, writings, films and installations, and they often communicate a sense of tactility, of radical softness and care, of attentiveness- as generosity.

Charlie Laban Trier (1987 CPH/DK) is a choreographer and performer, based primarily in Amsterdam. He graduated from SNDO in 2018 – Bachelor in Choreography, received the DanceWeb scholarship in 2017, and got selected to take part of LIVEWORKS vol.7 – Centrale Fies in 2019. His movement-background stems mainly from dances connected to house music – such as Vogue and House, and he’s still rooted within these scenes. One of the focuses of his work, is studying how to embody and learn from methods of already existing performance practices that plays with turning the gaze inside-out and that aims on enhancing space for bodies corrupted by different oppressive structures.

Short Bio
Charlie has in the recent 2 years worked as a performer for artists such as Paul Maheke (LND), Michele Rizzo (NL/IT), Noha Ramadan (NL/AU), Joy Mariama Smith (US, NL), Keren Levi (NL), Phoebe Osborne (NYC), Raoni Saleh (NL), Andreas Hannes (NL). He is further in collaborational projects with Cristina Kristal Rizzo (IT), Beck Heiberg (DK) and Elisabeth Raymond (SE).

Eli have been investigating the notions of traces in relation to larger environmental shifts and together with Charlie Laban Trier they look forward to dive further into these topics through the creation of
a new work.

Elisabeth Raymond & Charlie Laban Triers residency is arranged by Danscentrum Väst and Konstnärsnämndens International dance program in collaboration with Konstepidemin.
