Fernando Sanmartín

Fernando Sanmartín is a poet and narrator, but within his work travel books occupy a main space. For this reason, during his stay at Konstepidemin he plans to work on a new literary project focused on Göteborg, its daily life, its center and its peripheries, dialogues and conversations with the city itself and with people who live in it, aware that writing it is, above all, a way of looking.

Fernando Sanmartín (Zaragoza, 1959) is a writer born in Spain. The latest books that he has published have been the novel Os contaré la verdad (Ed. Xordica. Zaragoza, 2020) and the travel book Días en Nueva York y otras noches (Ed. Newcastle. Murcia, 2021). His poetry books Ir al norte (Ed. Libros del Aire. Santander, 2020) and Evitar la niebla (Ed. Papeles mínimos. Madrid, 2022) are also of recent date.
He was co-director of the literature magazine La expedición and now directs the poetry collection La Gruta de las Palabras, at the University of Zaragoza. With the book Viajes y novelerías he won the Café Bretón award. In 2022 he lived in Florence developing the Experience project, linked to the Chiasso Perduto exhibition space and artist residencies. He is currently a columnist for the newspaper Heraldo de Aragón.
