Patricia Vane

Patricia Vane is an artist, coming from The Netherlands, visited Konstepidemin four times and now living in Gothenburg. This is the 4th month in the third year of living in Sweden, and the third time in Guest studio 2.

In my studio I am exploring the ground of my being with the tools of artistic research and performativity.

I am planting seeds, taking care of propagated plantlets. (I just gave them some honey water)

I am writing my essay; the exam task in the MA Contemporary Performative Arts, where I am exploring the many layers of composing a text and the reflection of what this text is composed of, going into the physical ontology of me fulfilling the task of the exam. (in the text it looks like i am telling a lot about myself, how I got here and where I am and where I imagine to be heading to) (ontology is the philosophy of becoming and existence and physical to address the bodily experience of the philosophy)

I am cutting paper and folding and gluing them into 3d graphic posters.

I am sewing fabrics into clothing that I potentially use as costumes for my performances and movement pieces, but maybe also not and they potentially can be exhibited in a gallery pretending to be a store, where I will play the store manager.

I am decorating the studio with the things I make and imagine being an interior designer.

I am thinking of trying to dive into Indesign to create a digital magazine, a lifestyle magazine with my images of fashion garments and other photography I’ve done.

I am brewing on jobs to do (I think I want to work as a graphic designer- I went from illustration to animation, motion graphics, fashion design, a bit of dance, movement practices, artistic research, a bit of song writing to performative arts- I was also a sales assistant in fashion stores).

I am doing soft movement practices on the rug.

I am drawing the invisible relational structures, the roots, of Skogen (is a space for working with the tools of artistic practices and a place where we can come together with the mission of being together and understanding and sensing how we are together, how it works to form a community. You can find Skogen at Masthuggsterrassen, there public evenings of performance showings or lectures, study groups, and other types of gatherings, like dinners) (usually, but now we are fixing and gathering in very small groups) (skogen.pm)

I am trying to give in my application form to get a permanent studio here.

I am reading, drinking tea, pondering, dwelling, brewing
