“I Augment” – a participatory performance by Denis Romanovski and Peter Eccher where the artists in the format of an auction, investigate transformation of economical exchange. The performance takes place at Konstepideminsdag at Gallery Konstepidemin 20 – 20.30, August 26 2016. In the performance participants will collectively settle a question of ownership and value of an artwork, which eventually will be sold to the highest bidder.
This performance is a continuation of a process started a year ago at a performance by Denis Romanovski where the result of a collective effort was auctioned. The price reached its peak at 246 SEK along with a cheek kiss by Peter Eccher. Denis Romanovski invested the amount in a lunch meeting with the buyer. The lunch turned into a collaborative spin off, remaining 129 SEK were spent to purchase for the exact sum the artwork by Peter Eccher, which is now put up for auction.
The artists attempt to follow up a chain of events, alternating the price, where each event can augment or simply pass over the value.
The purchase price gained from the current sale will be used to continue the thread of the artists’ investigation, which will go on until they find a way to distribute artistic effort to everybody’s benefit.
