Soyoung Kwon is an artist and researcher based in Seoul, South Korea. Her practice explores how memory, knowledge, and relationships remain within materials, places, bodies, and everyday practices. Working across installation, performance, sound, video, and collaborative research, she is interested in things that are difficult to preserve through conventional forms of documentation: a gesture, a sound, a way of making, a story passed between people, or knowledge embedded in a particular place.

Soyoung often works through long-term and collective processes of listening, making, and exchange. Since 2022, she has been developing Sprout House (Saessakine), an artist-run space in Seoul that brings together artistic research, workshops, cooking, fermentation, fieldwork, and gatherings. She is also a member of Kimjangpoong, a collective that considers fermentation as a way of thinking about time, labour, transformation, and collective life.

Her ongoing project, The Tactile Archive Lab, extends these questions into the relationship between sound, touch, vibration, and memory. Rather than treating an archive as a record of something that has already happened, she asks how an archive might be experienced through the body and remain open to change. In Göteborg, she is currently extending this research toward stones and megalithic structures, thinking about the dolmen as a medium and interface through which bodies, landscapes, time, and knowledge meet.
