Cenk Dereli is an architect with a PhD whose creative works extend from architectural design to artistic drawings, podcasts, design research, book publishing, music composition and event organization. He manages the NOBON brand he founded and works on architectural ideas and events. He produces artworks based on drawings and architectural installations, which have been awarded by events such as the Moscow Architecture Biennale (2018) and Bucharest Triennial (2019). As the local host of the international event called PechaKucha, which brings together creative people, he organizes the event in Izmir Turkey and Malmö, Sweden.
In 2017, he finished his Doctoral Studies with the thesis titled “Evaluation Of Izmir In The Context Of UNESCO Creative Cities Network City Of Design Criteria” which focuses on themes like creative cities, city of design, development with creative industries and roles of designers in the building of the city image.
He was one of the producers of the only radio show on architecture in Turkey for eight years until 2019 broadcasted by one of the most well-respected independent FM radio stations of Turkey, Açık Radyo. He exhibited works in 21. BIO Industrial Design Biennial (Slovenia, 2008), 1st and 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial (Turkey, 2012, 2014) Postcards From The Anthropocene (Edinburgh, 2017), Nuit Blanche (Paris, 2017), 6th Moscow Bienale of Architecture (Moscow, 2018), Bucharest Architecture Triennale (Bucharest, 2019) . He was an artist in residency on various programs like Treignac Projet (France, 2011), Parsons Paris School of Art and Design Creative Residency (France, 2011), Iaspis-Swedish Arts Grands Committee (Sweden, 2015), Research Residency Volumes Paris FoodLab (France, 2016)
