Laurie Rosenwald

Painter, author, principal of rosenworld, a design studio. Inspired by artists like Stuart Davis, Patrick Caulfield and Robyn Denny, her work takes typography and graphic design to a painterly level. Enjoys the impossible contrast between an organic medium and plane geometry. “Painting? It’s like trying to build a city out of Vaseline,” she says. She paints with hot, coloured wax. In other words, encaustic. She can draw circles around other people that can draw circles, and claims to have won all the usual awards.
