Ronak Azeez

Ronak Azeez is born 1970 in Kurdistan, Iraq. Active as an artist and art teacher in Kerkuk, Iraq 2005-2010, where she also chaired the Art Association Dijla. In 2011 she moved to Sweden and now lives in Gothenburg. Ronak Azeez is fascinated by nature. Her paintings often depict women fighting for their rights and the human struggle against dominance and war. Ronak Azeez wants to convey a message of peace and tranquility in her work. Education Fine Art BA from the College of Fine Art, University of Baghdad, Iraq 2000. Exhibitions Ronak Azeez held her first solo exhibition in Sweden in 2014 coinciding with Sustainability Week in Mölndal. She has exhibited in libraries in many municipalities and has had twelve solo exhibitions including, in Partille, Bergsjön, Hammarkullen, Mölndal and Angered. In 2016 she was a participating artist in the First International Künstler Symposium, the Festival of Farben in Vienna, Austria where she was awarded a prize. In 2017 she participated in an exhibition at La Galerie Joseph, Paris, in DOKU Blumenthal and participated in a group exhibition for International Women’s Day in March 2018 Hanover, Germany and in the ”Window for Life” exhibition in Rome. In October 2017 she participated in GIBCA Extended’s exhibition in collaboration with Hammarkullen 365 at Hammarkullens Community Centre. She will be a resident artist at Konstepidemin, Göteborg from October 2018 , utstälning i Galleri 54 i november 2018.
