Welcome to an artist talk with Oda Iselin Sorcha Sønderland. During the artist talk, Sønderland will be in conversation with Mattia Lullini, co-founder of NEVVEN, to discuss her artistic practice and the new body of work that she will present in her upcoming solo show at NEVVEN. The talk is free and will be held in English.
Oda Iselin Sønderland (b.1996, Oslo) is a Norwegian/Irish artist. She works mainly with watercolour painting and recently sculpture, creating figurative work that draws in personal life experiences together with elements and shared stories from her own and other cultures, ranging from magical creatures to characters with an appearance that alludes to Japanese anime. Sønderland holds a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration from The National Academy of Art in Oslo, and is graduating Summer 2022 with an MA in Painting from The Royal College of Art in London. She has been exhibited at Arsenal Contemporary (Toronto, 2021), Like A Little Disaster (Polignano a Mare, 2021), Projet Pangee (Montreal, 2020), and Gallery Golsa (Oslo, 2019) among others. Sønderland lives and works in London, UK.
This event is a collaboration between NEVVEN Gallery and Konstepidemin, and is organised in the occasion of Oda Iselin Sønderland’s solo show “Krokus”, opening at NEVVEN on April 28.
