Welcome to an artist talk with Indonesian born Canadian artist Vinna Begin. During the artist talk, Begin will be in conversation with Yuying Hu, gallery manager of NEVVEN, to discuss her artistic practice and the new body of work presented in her solo show Featherlight opening at NEVVEN on February 22. The talk is free and will be held in English.

Vinna Begin’s (b.1971, West Java) work delicately balances shape, colour and light amid structures one encounters in nature. Portraits of lucid experience, rendered as soft, hazy marriages of organic form, mirror her interest in the universal, contemplative and transcendental. She holds an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and has exhibited at Sears-Peyton Gallery (New York, 2023), Galerie C.O.A. (Montreal, 2023), Alzueta Gallery (Barcelona, 2023), PLATFORM David Zwirner (2022), Fir Gallery (Beijing, 2022), Bark Berlin Gallery (Berlin, 2022), and Wilder Gallery (London, 2021) among others. Begin lives and works in Montreal, Canada.

This event is a collaboration between NEVVEN Gallery Konstepidemin, and is organised in the occasion of Vinna Begin’s solo show “Featherlight” at NEVVEN running from February 22—April 14, 2024.
